Free listings

A basic listing in The Local Page directory is free. It shows your business name, a short description, your category and your area. Contact from the public is relayed through The Local Page; your private contact details are never published on a free listing.

Submission and review

• You must be entitled to submit the information — the business owner or someone authorised by them.
• Every submission is checked by a person before publication, normally within [moderation timescale].
• We may edit descriptions for length, clarity, house style or legal reasons; correct facts when we have better information; or decline and remove listings at our discretion.
• Free listings are never presented as endorsements. A listing only shows "Verified" once the business itself has claimed it and we've confirmed the claim.

Enhanced listings and paid options

Enhanced listings, featured placements and other paid products are described on the advertising page and governed by the advertising terms. Payment is never required to appear in the directory.

Claiming, correcting and removing a listing

Business owners can claim a listing to verify and manage it. If your business is listed with out-of-date or wrong details, tell us and we will correct it. If you want a listing removed, ask and we will take it down — we only need to know you're entitled to ask. We aim to action corrections and removals within [timescale].

Marketing consent is separate

Ticking the listing terms box does not sign you up to marketing emails. Any marketing consent is asked separately, recorded separately, and can be withdrawn at any time.
